Hypotheticals
Hypotheticals
Using corporate storytelling as a catalyst for discussion, participants are immersed into an entertaining and challenging hypothetical workplace.
Participants become part of a hypothetical narrative, and put in the ‘hot seat’ – tasked to explain what they would do in a given difficult situation. In some cases, actors are introduced to add another dimension to the hypothetical, having a conversation directly with a participant.
Moderated by a Facilitator – the story line rapidly unfolds, exploring grey areas, ethical dilemmas and bringing to life realistic situations tailored to each Client’s corporate world.
An innovator in this form of storytelling, Performing Matters has written and performed Hypotheticals since 1996. Clients include Australasian Fire & Emergency Services Authorities Council (AFAC), Deloittes, Hammersley Iron, Kraft, Leighton Construction, Pacific Dunlop, Pasminco, University of Melbourne Business School, VicHealth, Westpac.
Topics covered include Safety, Women in the Workplace, Corporate Culture, Ethical Leadership, Social Media and Crisis Management
Case Study
Australasian Fire & Emergency Services
A hypothetical emergency scenario was featured at the 2012 AFAC national conference in Perth.
Written by Performing Matters and moderated by David Lawrence, this involved a panel of high profile industry experts; politicians, media representatives, and community leaders.
The Hypothetical covered key themes ranging from individual versus organisational responsibility, safety, social media and ethics.
As the fictitious emergency unfolded, the time line was driven forward by pre-recorded fictional TV news reports, broadcast at the conference, featuring Jo Gill as news anchorwoman ‘Scoop Verbatim’.
